How to Clean Your Mattress

Cleaning your mattress might sound like a big task, but it’s simpler than you think. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you remove dirt, sweat, stains ,odors , and more from your mattress.

Start by removing all bedding, including sheets, pillowcases, and mattress protectors, and wash them according to the care labels provided by the manufacturer.

Using a hand vacuum or the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner, gently go over the mattress to remove dust, hair, skin particles, and any other unwanted debris.

For stains, create a cleaning mix of dish soap, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle. Apply directly to the stain, gently blot or rub it in, then place a clean towel over the area and let it sit for 1–2 hours.

To freshen your mattress, sprinkle a generous layer of baking soda across the surface and allow it to rest for a few hours. If possible, open the windows to let in fresh air while the baking soda absorbs odors. When done, vacuum again to remove all residue.

Flip your mattress to the other side once you’re finished. Rotating or flipping it every 3–6 months helps to even out wear.Note: Not all mattresses can be flipped—check the manufacturer’s label to confirm.

Finally, replace your freshly laundered bedding and enjoy a restful night’s sleep!
